during this unit i have made it so i have made my future clearer to me, i have found out a bunch of ways in order to get my voice out their, some are quite simple, others are not, and of course with everything there are pros and cons, such as hateful messages or praise, either way it is the general life of an idol in japan, it is my dream though so i'll accept anything thrown at me. this unit hasnt really changed much on whether it has become clearer or harder as i already knew which kind of paths to take in order to take any kind of step towards my goal, this was basically just extra work which i didnt really need to do, pointless really. i can use my 5 year plan by looking at every single option i wrote down and put them in an order from easiest to hardest and start to slowly work my way between/ with each of them, i will probably start with the more easy route at first for a while before i can even move to something more complicated ( such as jobs in pubs or large talent shows like BGT or Xfactor) the easier routes will help me create more confidence in myself and my abilities, and so i can start doing more riviting things, becoming more of a dare devel and going straight out there with nothing to lose or fear,
my future cv has only very little to do with what i actually want to do, i wrote my cv as if i was a voice actor, yes i would love to be a voice actor as i want to get my voice out their but more with singing. i obviously will need to do more in order to reach the job of a voice actor, something like this isnt easy to obtain, and so years of getting myself put out their, advertisement and looking around, also having people who are close with the company is also a good thing. i would need to get intouch with the kind of characters a company creates so i know how to speak and how to speak emotion, it isn't easy but maybe going to acting classes or even simple speaking classes ( english course?) will help me into putting more emotion and feelings into the way i speak so i could become a successful voice actor.

portfolio unit 11
why is it import to have a portfolio:
"A portfolio is a living and changing collection of records that reflect your accomplishments, skills, experiences, and attributes. It highlights and showcases samples of some of your best work, along with life experiences, values
reference:
this is a website of a performer i know, she used to be on tv as the 14
year old idol, her name is becki, but her stage name is beckii cruel,
she promotes her self via youtube, and going to different conventions, i
believe this is a way i would like to promote myself to become a famous
performer in the future, this is a print screen of her website, im not a
big fan of the lay out as it looks very simple and plain, as a
performer you want to show how creative and exciting you can be, this is
not a way i would go, i would add colour, and add small videos here and
there showing what i can do and little tasters of upcoming songs and
dances etc, i would say this is a professional portfolio to look up to
though as you cant find many people who wish to become a japanese idol
like i do, becki is just one of the few, and i do try to follow some of
the things she does so maybe i can make a better and more clear path for
myself!
this is another referance to another singer/ internet idol/ japanese
idol, this girl named kelsey/ kimono time is a little more known than
becki. she started off with dancing then began singing on youtube and at
conventions again like becki, however she has become famous in japan
like i would like too, she promotes herself with her website, as you can
see, she tells you all about her music, the events she is going too,
pictures also, youtube i say is her portfolio and her website is also
part of it, but its more to promote herself, i do like the way she has
done her website, it is alot more colourful, its beautiful and looks
professional for a performer, it has many different tabs that lead you
to the place you want to go, if i were to create a website i would use
this kind of style, adding a large picture of myself, my name and adding
a bunch of colour which looks good together and represents the type of
person you are, which i believe kelsey is very creative and bubbly like
her website.
"A portfolio is a living and changing collection of records that reflect your accomplishments, skills, experiences, and attributes. It highlights and showcases samples of some of your best work, along with life experiences, values
And achievements. The personal information that you incorporate into your
portfolio can greatly reflect on your abilities as an individual as well as
Become a useful tool in marketing yourself to employers, corporations,
Colleges and universities. A portfolio does not take the place of a
resume, but
it can accentuate your abilities and what you can offer in the chosen
field."
this
is basically the definition of a portfolio it is used to show employers
or universities/ schools what kind of talents you possess in a certain
field, and how your creativity works! i do not have a portfolio myself
however i do not have the things required to make one, as i am studying
an art and design course i have nothing in the course that will help to
build a portfolio for music and singing/ performance, i'd have to study
performing arts and have videos and tracks of me singing/ performing, so
i thought creating a portfolio for art and design is pointless as i
have no interest in ding anything of the sort in the future.

the
portfolio websites i have found/ looked for are for those who wish to
become a singer/ idol in japan, these are the 2 i know of and the ones i
could easily find, i wish to display my portfolio like these either on a
colourful creative website, or even on youtube as i wish to sing and
dance, videos on youtube would be the best place to go.
job search unit 11
job 1: pub singer - yes this is an actual job, but hard to find if i want to become a singer in the future, i will have to explore other areas of preforming such as small business or larger ones, to be a pub singer i need to have good english language skills atleast so that you're able to atleast memorize songs and sing them with perfect pronunciation, also a small amount of talent is required for this job, you will be given an interview like any other job and you will be asked to preform a small taster to the owner of that pub so they know whether or not they should hire and pay you. as your singing needs to be enjoyed by most of the customers who go. confidence in yourself is highly recommended and also looking smart/ ready for work is appropriate, they wouldn't want any one turning up sloppy. i could probably do this job as i have a high grade in english language and there are many jobs in which you need to perform a small taster in the interviews, having a small amount of confidence and practicing every day is something i can do daily, this job can build even more confidence for you to go further in life.
job 2: lion head studios concept artist: to be a lion head studio artist, you first have to know of the company and what it does, secondly you need to know how they work which can be easily seen from playing the games they create and watching interviews upon them and searching through their website, the requirements you need are as follows:
* 4 gcse's above C level
* a level in art and design
* a grade in IT would be recommended
* some job experience will be required
* recognition of other game companies and a recommendation is also required
* an A3 or A2 portfolio is required
i could most likely do this job as i do how over 4 gcse's in a high grade, i have IT skills, ( studied IT and got a pass) i am currently working on a grade for art and design in my game development art and design course. i have job experience with doing voulentry work i know of many different game companies and how they work as i buy and play games constantly, i research their art, i do quite alot of research if im interested the only thing holding me back is a portfolio, i cannot go back to my 5 year plan for this as these are 2 complete different jobs!

5 year plan unit 11
5 year plan thing
I do not wish to enter the game industry, I never did. The
reason I joined the course was because it seemed interesting, this course does
a lot of things I never even knew you could study in college, only university,
so I thought I’d follow in my sisters footsteps and try this course, I hate 3d
modelling and programming and animation, the only part I can relate to is the
art and design section. However, even if I do like the art and design section I
don’t want to do anything in the future to do with it. I’m not near creative
enough to even be able to make a penny in the art world. I use art and design
manly so I can get new ideas in my head for costume, I make costumes/ cosplays
as a hobby, I’ve been told I should pursue it as a career, but I don’t want to, I see it as just a
hobby, something to pass time, something to fuel other hobbies such as
cosplaying and going conventions, nothing more, what I’d really like to pursue
as a career is something a lot more difficult to achieve, which is becoming an
idol/ singer, it has been my dream for years to become a singer, I sing every
day, yes I get scared when people hear me and yes I have stage fright, but if I
was to start working towards this dream properly, I’d build my confidence. I
may not be perfect, heck I don’t think I’m great, but I’ve had nothing but
positive comments so far, so I thought that this is the path I want to take, I
originally wanted to study music in school and college, however I quit in year
8 as the teacher was beyond harsh because I got one note wrong on a trumpet, so
I broke down and quit, this was a major wrong turn, I realized when I reached
year 11 when I made a mistake, so I decided to join choir, it didn’t help but
it still let me sing, when it came to joining college, I wanted to join a
performing arts/ music course, however I got put down on it by my own mother,
saying I wouldn’t be good enough as I don’t have any qualifications for music
or anything so I should join something else… that’s where I joined this course.
The word idol can confuse some people, it is usually a generic term used in
japan for a singer/ dancer which is looked up upon majorly! I want this. I love
the Japanese culture, I study their language, I study their music, I sing to
their music and I practice their dances, days go by where I say to myself. “I
can do this, I can become an idol”. But as I am working towards this I will obviously need a job as a base. I’m not bothered with the
job I have as I work on a music career, just something that pays and can help
me work towards getting the right equipment to start music.
So
far I’m working in a charity shop called acorns, twice a week, this job I
believe has given me quite a lot of experience, I’m able to help customers and
talk to them in a professional and in a friendly manner, I handle stock
constantly, fragile and non-fragile, I clean the store, clean the clothes and
merchandise, this job has given me experience with practically handling shop
good, maintaining cleanliness, customer service and hopefully soon working on
the tills with money. So I’d say with this experience I could probably enter
any kind of retail job, nothing extreme though. HOWEVER back to the singing
career, in order to obtain any kind of experience and luck with a singing
career, I’d have to take singing classes, I know of a few, and I’d need to save
money in order to go to them (previous statement about getting a norm job)
these classes will help my find my type of music and style, build up my
confidence and give me a better chance at succeeding. (Hell maybe I can even
make my own stage outfits!)
I have thought about uni, and there was a time where I was
going to go, however the thought of leaving everything behind and studying for
4 years, putting off my dream made me feel sick, yes it could help me, but I
want to try and do things with natural talent, not with things I get told by some
teacher, also as I am at a certain time in my life (personal), I’ll feel
uncomfortable leaving at the moment, but once I feel at peace ( when college is
over and whole uni thing blows over etc.) I’ll feel better to start things up
with my dream.
In the 5 years I could
be entering different competitions such as Britain’s got talent or even x
factor to try and get a career in singing or I can take the easier option and
start a channel on YouTube, it will be easy to post covers and keep my face
hidden, making sure my identity is a secret is a big thing for me at the moment
just in case I get quite a bit of hate, no one will know who I am in real life
so I won’t get abuse outside. Other things I could do to get my voice known and
herd is enter karaoke or sing in pubs/ restaurants or even sing at conventions
on stage, it is possible I would just have to work on my confidence, I go to
conventions at least twice a year so I have quite a lot of experience with what
kind of people id be singing for and the atmosphere, I may as well work with a
place I am familiar with when I first start out because I then won’t be that
uncomfortable.
