here is a plan of what i will be doing in the upcoming weeks, this project is 9 weeks long and in those 9 weeks i have to have done research, provide evidence and make a product, so that it all links together and gets me the grade i desire.
(each and every week was written before the week began, i do not want to write a full plan right at the beginning as my planning and dates could be way off and i could miss my dealine by mistake or even not manage my time properly and i could spend very littlew time or too much time on one thing, and miss another, etc. i thought this was a much better way of working.)
20th march - plan research
i already have an idea of what i want to do for my project, so i have a small idea of the type of research i need to do, first i'll do what i did for every other project and create a mind map, pinpointing every detail and information in a simple form so i know what i'll need to write about later on in the project, following this i will begin to write the first part of my research, which is sewing techniques, i should hopefully get these two pieces done by the following week and continue to do more research
23rd - 27th march - further research
during this week of the project i hope to spend more time on the research part of my project, i hope to obtain as much information as i can before i even think of making a product. the research i plan to do is more to do with colours, fabric and templates, this will narrow down my ideas for my product, and will help me with creating something satisfactory
update 24th march : mind map and research upon sewing techniques are complete, they were complete on the 20th as planned, it is very little to research so it wasn't a great task, so it didnt take too long. also research on fabric has been completed, this task was made complete by the 24th of march, by using fabrics i owned as examples of the types of fabric you can get, i am still working on other research.
30th march - 10th april - easter holiday
i will be off college during these dates as it is an easter holiday, during these 2 weeks i hope to start doing some design work, e.g. dress designs, colour choice, final designs. i doubt i'll be able to do my final designs as well, as i hope to do quite a few designs and details, but i will try to manage my time and maybe do 1 or 2 designs a day, or even some sketches.
13th - 17th april - final designs and materials
during this week i should be able to work on some finalized designs, i will need to do a few to get an idea of what i would like to do as a product, my finalized designs will contain pieces of previous designs, this should take atleast most of the week, and once i have finished i will go to buy the materials for the product i wish to make, closer to the time i will make some calculations to how much it will cost!
update 19th april : the holiday is over and i was able to complete every design during then, even the final designs! which means i have saved myself quite a bit of time to work on other things, i plan on doing a character profile now during the week i was meant to do my final designs, a character profile will really help people understand a little more about my project.
20th april- 8th may - product
from the final design i was able to tell and work out that my product will take atleast 2-3 weeks to make, and so i plan to spend 3 weeks starting from the 20th/22nd of april to the 8th of may working on making my product, alot of time will be spent on planning each and every piece, and the rest of the time will be creating and putting together.hopefully i will be able to juggle making the product and real life so that i make it before the deadline or even before i hope to have finished it!
11th may - 15th may - evaluation
this is the weeek where i should have finsihed the product and writing an evaluation, usully i'd write an evauation after everything is complete and so i hope to have completed everything before the 11th atleast, the evaluation will include the ups and downs of this project and my own personal opinion of my product.
update 18th may :the product didnt take as long as i thought it would! the overall thing took two weeks to complete, it doesnt look as great as the design but i did what i could, now i have some spare time to reflect and improve. or even get some professional shots/ photos of my product so i can present it in the future in a more elegant way. evaluation is also complete, it is 3 pages long, i wrote all about the project, missing features from my design and pros and cons, also ways i could imrpove, i have quite a bit of free time now to spend on probably improving my work.
22nd may - presentation
by this time i have been told i will need to put my work up on a board which will be built in the class room, ahead of this date i will create a plan and design of what i will do, i will present my work in a way it stands out.
